A few weeks ago a volcano erupted in Iceland. The lava flow reached a village and a number of houses went up in flames. God spoke.
“This is what I am doing with My church.”
In the days that followed, God spoke further about this. God said, “I will come with a fire and I will test the houses. I will test the houses that say they are My houses. They will be tested by fire. It will be like in the time of Moses and Aaron when I went by the houses and passed over only those where the blood of the lamb was on the doorpost.”
What are the houses tested for? Which houses won’t last?
Holiness! The grace of God and the sacrifice of Jesus have not changed the holiness of God. God does not change His principles because people do not have the will to adhere to them. Those houses that see grace as a substitute for a desire for holy living will not last. Houses that no longer call for conversion lose their power. Those who go along with the lawlessness of the world, they will not be able to stop the flow of fire and they will be consumed by it. Houses that allow or even encourage sexual immorality, houses where scheming is done about brothers and sisters, houses where God’s word is not recognized as truth and fear of God does not live in the hearts of people, will go up in flames.
Life! There are houses where there is no longer the life of God. There is no restoration of lives, no restoration of relationships, no restoration of bodies. There is no more faith to be found in a living God. Holy Spirit has been silenced. The maintenance of social gatherings has become the highest goal, above a life in the Holy Spirit. These houses see the working of the Holy Spirit as optional instead of foundational. There is no faith to be found in the hearts of people, at most faith in a god who may once have done mighty deeds, but now wants no interference in people’s lives.
In my Spirit I kept experiencing these words from God: “I don’t want to be known like that. I am the living God. Besides Me there is no other God.”
Do not be deceived, says the Lord. It is not about numbers in houses nor about forms or the name of a denomination. Do not be sad when ‘churches’ close where there is no longer the life and holiness of God to be found. They are stone walls without the breath of God. Learn to see things with spiritual discernment. Where do you see the living God? Where do you see lives changed by God’s power? Where is God honoured for who He is, the only living and holy God?
These houses that long for holiness and life, they will not be consumed by fire, but God will fill those houses with His fire!
The new is here, let the old fall away and the new rise.
Dear friends, I had been eagerly planning to write to you about the salvation we all share. But now I find that I must write about something else, urging you to defend the faith that God has entrusted once for all time to his holy people. I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. So I want to remind you, though you already know these things, that Jesus first rescued the nation of Israel from Egypt, but later he destroyed those who did not remain faithful. Jude 1:3-5
